600 Horsepower Snow Gas Engine - Page 11

Audience

We wonder what James H. Snow, Daniel O'Day, and the designers and builders of this engine would think if they could see this audience's enthusiastic interest in their product nearly 100 years after it left the factory.

Engineers

Several museum engineers maintained a close watch on the engine during runs.

Exhaust

After many years of silence the Snow is making "stack music" again.

Gas Line

It's interesting to listen to the gas line supplying the building when the engine is running.  Each time the Snow takes nourishment during an intake stroke there is a noticeable rush of flow heard from the plumbing.

Air Intake

Intake strokes are also audible at the air intake pipe for the engine.

Water Tank

The Lorain crane lifts the 10,000 gallon water tank into place onto the base for the water tower.
