EITHER – AJAX
Another convertible steam or gas cylinder built in Washington, PA by B.
D. Northrup. The clever name
of “The Either” was used for this engine.
It is mounted on an Ajax frame.
It simply uses three large globe valves to change.
It was used near Washington. |

D C & U - F & T
This convertible engine, made in McDonald, PA was designed by Dahlberg,
Clicquennoi, and Uhlin and built by the B. D. Tillinghast Co.
It is on a later model Farrar & Trefts frame.
This is the 3rd convertible from that area and pumped near Kane,
PA |

EMERY - STRUTHERS WELLS
This is a two-cycle Emery Machine cylinder from Bradford, PA on a steam
engine frame probably built by Struthers Wells of Warren, PA.
It pumped oil in Northwestern PA. It features a very unique
Tillinghast reversing clutch.
It is compete with its belt drive governor.

OIL WELL SUPPLY - UNKNOWN
This little engine uses a two-cycle OWS cylinder on an unknown steam
frame. Note the over and
under crosshead and forked connecting rod.
The plate under the crosshead is actually a small toolbox.
It pumped a rod line power just south of Warren, PA.
