Volunteer Doug Fye fills in soil around the Otto's muffler pot. |
Paul Harvey, owner of this engine and Co-Founder of the Coolspring Power Museum, stands next to the completed 175 hp Otto engine. Thanks to the many volunteers who worked so hard to make this happen. |
With the engine complete, the next task was to reassemble the Deane triplex pump the Otto drove. The crew is installing the pinion bearing bracket on the vertical A-frames. |
The pump's crankshaft has been installed, the pinion shaft installed, the coupling alignment has been completed, and the coupling fitted together. The pump base is ready to be grouted to the foundation. |
Rob Northey and Chris Austin placing the bottom half of the big gear. The crankshaft has already been installed. |
