The Brookville Water Works as it appeared in 2006. The building features a beige brick exterior and red tile roof. North Fork Creek is visible at the bottom of the photo. |
This plaque on the exterior of the building indicates that the Water Works dates to 1911. |
Paul Harvey points out some of the elegant architectural details on the building, including this arch over the entrance. |
The Otto engine and Deane pump at the Brookville Water Works in an undated photo. The flat belt drove a centrifugal pump that brought water from North Fork Creek into the facility for treatment. The Deane pump then delivered the treated water to Brookville's reservoir. |
The museum's Power Technology Building was selected as the location for the engine and pump. After excavating a pit in the building, our concrete contractor poured the foundation mat for the engine and pump. |
