Tom Rapp Evans Pumping Power - Page 1

Evans Engine

This is the faithful 8 hp Evans, built in Butler, PA, that runs all day long for our shows.  It is mounted on a factory skid that also holds the gear drive and clutch to operate the walking beam that pumps the well.  The wooden tank can be seen through the back door.

Pump Jack

Located at the front of the engine, the gearing shown here operates the overhead walking beam for the pump outside the building.

Water Well

The walking beam extends out the side of the building to the well, which is about 7 feet deep.  The water tank fed by the pump is in the lower left corner of the photo.
