Aaron Nagy Pumping Power - Page 1

ARACO Engine

The big 12 hp ARACO engine and pumping power was built by the American Railway Appliance Company of Oil City, PA in about 1912.  The interior of this building is nicely detailed with with tools, an air compressor, and an oil drum.

ARACO Power

The pumping power section of the ARACO is driven directly from the engine.  A pile of rod line parts is in the background.  Note the gearing and single disc eccentric to operate the rod lines.

Air Compressor

The exhibit has an electric air compressor powered by the Kohler light plant.  However, most of these ARACO engines were hand started only.
