The pumping power is tilted with respect to the engine. No belts here! The engine drives the pumping power directly via a shaft. Note the slots in the base of the building. Rod lines from the pumping power passed through the slots and out to the oil field. |

Seen from the valley below, the building fits in nicely with the museum's landscape. The engine puffs some emissions into the air for the full experience. |

Just to add even more interest, the Bovaird & Seyfang doubles as a "vortex cannon." When winds are calm, smoke rings from the engine's exhaust sail across the valley and rustle leaves on the other side of the clearing. |
